SHINee will be participating in MBC's special yearly Chuseok event, the Idol Star Athletic Championships of 2013. Idols who attend will compete in Olympic-like games with approximately 150 other idol guests. The show will be recorded on January 28th and broadcast on February 11th.

A representative stated, “There are many idol stars who have really focused on practicing. Because the viewer ratings are good, and a lot of spotlight is given, they all have competitive spirits. In the case of top idols, they try to be more careful of their bodies to prevent injuries. But rookie groups are participating with a lot more zeal in order to gain attention. The idols have already started their battle of dignity.” - allkpop

Update: SHINee's schedule board has updated with the information that Minho will be attending.

They did not mention if all SHINee members going to be there? Only Minho was there in the Idol Competition last year, I hope the others can participate as well.

I honestly dont want Minho to be the only one participating... please let all of SHINee in as well!! I wanna see JongKey fooling arounf the tracks again...and see the new, MANLY Taemin instead of the mushroom-head~~~ ㅋㅋㅋ And I wonder how Jjong would do in the sports events since he had been working out a lot... *A*

As much as I love compeititive and sporty Minho, but I wanna see others participate too! Especially Jonghyun! I wanna see him run 100m sprint again! He prooved that short people CAN run FAST! xD And Key will be doing hurdling again! Onew with his joke on track and Taemin running too!

I hope they all participate. Minho is a great athlete....but I love to see the others take part as well. And if there is a running event Jonghyun will win! I never saw anybody run as fast as he does!

i wanna see Onew being weird, Jjong walking around eating snacks, Key being Minho's personal cheerleader and dancing girl group dances, Taemin being his cute self talking to friends and being lost and Minho of course participating a lot and giving tips to everyone else who is competing!!
